FireWire Power Injection Cable
The FireWire Power Injection cable will allow you to power a 6pin device from a non-powered 6pin port.
Why would I need this?
When you Need to add power to a device through an exterior power source, this is a great way to do it. Power does run through the bus, but power can also be added through the power adapter.
I have a laptop, can this add power to that?
Definitely. Most PC laptops have a 4pin FireWire port, which means that it doesn't supply power. However, if you have a 6pin port (such as on this cable), then you can definitely use this to add power. By inserting this in the FireWire chain, you can inject bus power into your stream.
